About KCI Kansas City
Serving major markets throughout the Midwest, KCI Kansas City offers a full range of remarketing services including reconditioning,
inspections, transportation, salvage auctions, equipment auctions, and Internet auctions. KCI Kansas City remarkets vehicles for wholesale consignors including dealers, manufacturers, rental car
companies, banks, finance, and leasing institutions. Its primary customer base draws from Missouri,
Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
KCI Kansas City was established in 1978 and was previously
known as P & S Auto Auction and Kansas Auto Auction. The original auction was located in Elwood, KS
and operated in that location for twenty-nine years.
Auction owners, Gregg Boswell and Doug Doll, have more than forty-five years
combined auto auction experience. Both came through the auction ranks working in various departments,
learning all aspects of the industry. Under their direction the auction saw tremendous growth. It grew from
selling seventy-five cars per week to selling two hundred seventy-five cars per week. Meanwhile, the
facility grew from five to
twenty-three acres. Eventually, the auction outgrew its location and knew
it was time to move forward.
In response to the rising demand for its services, the auction made a land
purchase in Kansas City, MO in 2006 and began the process of constructing a state of the art facility.
Construction began in October of 2007, taking nine months to complete. KCI Kansas City
welcomed customers to a long-awaited opening of their new facility in July of 2008. Shortly after its
opening, Bob McConkey Jr purchased ownership in KCI Kansas City. With his extensive background and
wholesale auto auction experience, Bob is a tremendous asset and the auction will continue to prosper
under his direction.
KCI Kansas City continues to expand to serve growing sales and services.
We continue to improve facilities and increase services, including the introduction of Auction Pipeline
Internet Sales. Currently, auction officials are planning for additional parking spaces, a test track,
and an on-site reconditioning facility with all being completed by Spring of 2011.
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of customer
service with the responsibility of friendliness, personal accountability, and company pride.
